The FNGA And FRLA Team Up To “Green Up”
Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Tallahassee, FL, June, 30 2009: The Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (FRLA) has added the Florida Natural Gas Association (FNGA) to its list of strategic partners. With restaurants using up to five times more energy per square foot than any other commercial building, the FRLA aims to help its members save money- and take environmental responsibility- through the use of clean, efficient natural gas.

Partnering up for mutual gain and growth, both Tallahassee-based groups will learn and benefit through the continual sharing of resources.  Through cross-industry networking and various niche marketing efforts, the 2009 collaboration aims to create growth opportunities; combine the organizations’ branding and messaging; increase web traffic; and ultimately, expand the reach of both markets.

Promoting the use of natural gas, the FNGA aims to build and retain a stronger presence in Florida’s $57 billion restaurant industry, as well as “green up“ the food service industry. The FNGA will use FLRA.com to feature natural gas news, energy rebates, exclusive member rates and more.

GetGasFL.com, FNGA.com’s sister web site, will help drive FLRA membership- and feature multiple efficiency tools, including a carbon footprint calculator and commercial energy benchmark data. The FNGA will facilitate commercial kitchen upgrades by providing recommendations for new natural gas equipment, as well as cash rebates and incentives to offset the initial cost of including natural gas. Beyond the immediate, the FNGA will provide long-term solutions for sustainability and success.

With energy practices and environmental responsibility playing an increasingly large role in consumer loyalty, this partnership helps portray the right corporate image for both small and large volume restaurants. Beyond saving commercial food service buildings up to 1/3 in operating costs, natural gas equipment helps lighten a restaurants’ carbon footprint while providing superior performance, value and reliability.

The (FNGA) is non-profit organization that promotes and encourages the growth of the natural gas industry in the state of Florida. It also seeks to protect the interests of the industry, its members and consumers. Our members include distribution companies, transmission, gas supply marketers and affiliate members. With a membership of more than 100 companies, FNGA represents every segment of the natural gas industry.
